I am on Gleevec and have noted that my eyesight is not as good as it was at one time. Don’t know if that is from CML or just part of the aging process. Wishing you a blessed week!!

My eyes are worst. Had to go to stronger glasses. I take gleevec. Been on it 5 yrs. Just like you managing those side effects.

Hi Vivy, some things like the nausea do seem to improve. I remember my first month on gleevec I was really shaky and nauseated. Your body adjusts. I think part of it is learning how to minimize side effects. For I make sure to take my gleevec at night after my dinner but away from other medication. Having a full stomach helps and not adding other things to the mix. I also found that if I take it at night I can sleep thru the nausea.

A year in though fluid retention and puffy eyes are still an issue. I use several depuffing creams with caffeine that at least help cool puffy eyes and seem to help a little. Also helps to wear compression stockings and drink lots of tea or water to stay hydrated.
Hope things improve.

Yes three months after my annual eye exam, which was fine with no change in prescription that I’ve had for 15 years, I noticed blurring. Made An appt for fundoscopy. It’s showed after 3 months on Sprycel, eye changes. Given An updated prescription.

I had double vision once that lasted about 30 minutes. By the way I was driving at the time. It was caused by a carotid artery in my neck that 80 percent blocked. My eyes have definitely gotten worst since taking Imatnib or gleevec. Age? Or medicine?
