Dizziness While Taking Calquence
I have CLL diagnosed 2019, I was in watch and wait intil 2020 when my blood work numbers increased and my DR put me on Calquence. It has been very affective in my treatment as all my numbers from my bloodwork are in a normal range. However for the last several months I have experienced dizziness and feeling off balance constantly. It has become almost debilitating. Could the Calquence be doing this?
Is it the calquence or the CLL? I was diagnosed in 2017. No skin issues or balance issues with imbruvica but the a fib and muscle spasms were awful. Calquence now is the horrible imbalance and pressure in my head..it’s hard to stay positive but I think we all do the best we can.
Hi Diane. Might want to contact your oncologist and let them know about the dizziness, etc. especially since it has been working good for you since 2020, but now is not. I think sometimes our bodies become used to or immune to medications over time so maybe just by adjusting it to a lower dose or trying something else will be better. I have read other team members stories/experiences with their various treatments and often the side effects are such that the oncologist needs to make a change. Best of luck and let us know what your oncologist says ok. :):)
I feel dizziness and off balance alot and I am not taking anything. Still in watch and wait. I think it is just part of CLL. Dose anyone else have this problem?
Sorry you are going thru this too. I have been to 3 ENT docs for balance, pressure and heart thumping in my head
For the commotion in my head, can’t drive no more. I do think it was the calquence, doc says not. Decongestant pills help
Hi Ginger. I have strugglesd with episodes of severe dizziness since 2018. I believe I would probably have been in early stages of CLL at the time as was also dealing with relentless fatigue but was yet to be diagnosed. At one point in 2019, I developed a serious sinus and upper respiratory infection concurrently with this debilitating dizziness which had been diagnosed as Benign Positional paroxysmal vertigo or BPPV. I can control this by performing head exercises specific to this condition. It creeps up from time to time still though. I don’t know if it is the CLL that brought this on initially or if just a result of aging or both but it can be diagnosed by specially trained therapists and they can teach you the exercises that could help. May be worth discussing this with your GP?
