Like everyone says don’t give up. The doctor is good at throwing chemo at you but they don’t give us information on how to deal with the things that tears us up. We have to learn the painful way. Lots of good information comes from this website

One thing they gave me in the hospital was Biotene mouth rinse. When I got mouth sores, it did help some. When it got unbearable, I was given the Magic Mouthwash. The homemade version of the mouthwash is equal parts of Maalox and Benedryl. So this can be swallowed just to an extent. You don't want to overdose of this though by swallowing every time it's used. I hope you feel better soon! {{{HUGS}}}

My medical facility just sent me a survey to complete and I honestly mentioned the fact that we need to be warned of the side effects BEFORE we go into chemo so that we can handle it all better and be prepared. I am glad that I spoke up. They need to know what is going on and how to make our care experience better. Betsy
PS: Have a joyous Monday.

I'm on imbruvica and can't eat anything to spicy or vingarie, seems everything irritates my throat , I got a bad mouth sores from eating peaches so now have to be careful of acidic foods, I agree totally that we don't get the facts about what we could face before it happens, yes they ask us if we have this or that , but we really don't have any idea about how bad it can be and anything is a trail and error, we need to be better informed , I like having this outlet to see what we all are really going thru, we get the truth!
