Fatigue, Is It Generalized Or Is It Mostly Upper Body Of Lower Body.

I’ve been complaining about my legs feeling like I have just run three or four marathons in a row. Another way of saying it is a feel like 200 pounds apiece just wondering.

I feel the fatigue most often in my legs. General heaviness. Lots of stiffness .. age (69) or side effects of CLL? I just finished a year of Venclexta and wondered if it was that. Its certainly tolerable .. but always waiting for the other shoe to fall aka an ‘episode’ that will require another round of treatments. Ugh ..
But thankful for each day and the many joys of my life. I stretch a lot and fortunately sleep well. One day at at a time.

WOW... lots of us aging and trying to figure out what is being caused by what. At 78, I know I have overused some of my joints and I have a family history of osteoarthritis. I have four artificial joints- one hip, two knees and one shoulder. My shoulder is looking toward revision after about 15 years. Other joints are doing well. My GP prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for longer pain relief than over the counter meds. One 7.5 mg tab in the am seems to really help me get through the day. I move around a lot at night, as my replaced shoulder really does not like many of the positions I put my body in. Talk with your docs about pain. We get no medals for just putting up with it,and since rest is important with any Leukemia, finding out how best to get good rest seems important. I agree about talking with your doc about "heavy" limbs. Mine are not heavy, but my legs are terribly itchy which is likely my diabetes numbers... grumble. Be well folks... and thanks for being here.

HI John, In regards to your legs feeling heavy...have you mentioned it to your doctor? May or may not be lymph-edema. When I was first diagnosed 8 yrs ago, my right leg was extremely heavy...often I would have to literally lift it up. Mentioned to my oncologist and he simply said that until it swells up and gets yellow don't worry and just call me when it does. Yes, I fired him a few days later. I did my own research and thankfully found a local practitioner that does what is ELT therapy. Link below for more information. Within a week, I had a noticeable difference. I went 2 times a week for 6 weeks and after that I would just go once a month. I also bought a mini trampoline and began rebounding (still do that when I can't get out and walk). And no, one does not jump on the trampoline...all I do is stand on it and let gravity of the mesh move me up and down. 5-10 min is all it takes to help. There is a plethora of valid medical research out there in regards to how important it is to keep our lymphatic system (which is secondary to our nervous system), flowing. Sure hope you're able to get it trouble shooted as it is not a fun feeling at all.

So sorry to hear about your falls Deb and your wrists and recovery time. Any chance you can do some small exercises to help with your balance or is it balance due to dizziness?
Thinking of you and hoping for a good recovery.

Vacuuming is tough for me. Not unlike mowing. I have a small home, but eventually hired some wonderful help. It has been a great relief. I have a right shoulder replacement that has made a huge difference. I am so grateful to hear that folks are finding answers and even solutions. Not simple. It seems so difficult with this complication of Leukemia, to know just what may be causing pain and fatigue. My general practitionner is working with me to balance high blood pressure and sugar caused in part by my new med (Brukinsa) However, I am sometimes high and sometimes low, so it is a game. I feel certain we will find some way to manage it all.
