If your donors match was good you will be fine. At first you will feel a little weak but gradually your counts will be going back up. You will noticeably grow more hair since off of Chemo.
Do these 3 things and you be fine:

Eat your 3 meals at home
Sleep at least 7-8 hours
Keep moving around and be active.

BMT patients, take it 1 day at a time and even if you feel better don’t do anything stupid before 12 months post BMT.
Remember your immune system is that of a baby. It’s like being born again.

Stem cell transplant therapy for leukemia involves replacing damaged or destroyed bone marrow with healthy stem cells. Here are key points:

- Types of Transplants:
- Autologous: Uses the patient's own stem cells, collected before high-dose chemotherapy and reintroduced afterward.
- Allogeneic: Uses stem cells from a donor, which can be a relative or an unrelated person who is a good genetic match.

- Procedure:
- High-dose chemotherapy is administered to kill leukemia cells and damage normal blood cells.
- Healthy stem cells are then infused to regenerate the bone marrow and blood cells.

- Outcomes:
- Can potentially cure leukemia.
- Allogeneic transplants are particularly effective for certain types of leukemia, such as CML, AML, and ALL.

- Risks:
- Severe side effects, especially with allogeneic transplants.
- Risk of relapse with autologous transplants due to possible reintroduction of leukemia cells.

- Eligibility:
- Depends on the type of leukemia and individual medical factors.
- Often considered for relapsed or high-risk cases.
