Do You Have A Hobby To Help Take Your Mind Off The Cancer?

I believe, and my health care providers agree, that having a hobby is conducive to good mental health. Do you have a hobby? If so share it here šŸ˜

Diane, I know it's a big adjustment cooking for just yourself. And eating by yourself is even tougher. But I just made some zuchinni bread (zuchinni from my garden) and some honey butter to go with it. Sometimes... there is a comforting aspect to being in the company of ones own self... a quietude.

I love to kayak and walk the dogs. Iā€™m also a pretty good gardener and cook.

Avid reader of quality fiction and non fiction. Used to be a university research librarian so I have no patience for poorly written books lol!Love to cook and plan mostly ethnic recipes . I have 135 spice bottles and complete Asian and Arab cooking pantries. Is a foodie obsession a relaxing hobby? For 34 years of marriage we have exercised in gyms. I need the variety of yoga, swimming and Tai chi in with cardio and weight training. Mentally the variety of reading, cooking and gym workouts gives me a better perspective when dealing with that killer fatigue. Cannot travel much because with migraine and husband's bad back,it takes too much out of us, but I don't miss it at all.

Spring through fall I work in my flower garden & my neigh or's as well . I also still do all mowing including walking with a push mower. In the fall I walk indoors- read- sew * cook a lot. I'm involved at church & mingle with family & friends. Keeping busy takes focus off CLL even though I'm subconsciously aware of it daily .
