I had 2 PIC lines & one caused an infection! I have a Port & it is better due to longevity, less risk of infection & ease of infusion of therapy or blood tests!
It doesn’t hurt since the port is surgically put in ! You are under anesthesia! Key is period of time to heal before it can be used!
