Hi KimberlyM,
I agree with Soultime12,
Talk to your physical therapist. I have a lot of joint pain too and I also have CLL. What helps me is to keep moving, exercising, biking 15-30min everyday and heat/ice helps too. I use tylenol arthritis and Arnicare, which is topical. Anricare is a homeopathic, over the counter cream. You can get it at almost any drug store. It really help me manage the pain. Also if possible, find out what foods to avoid, like sugar. Sugar can really effect your joints in a negative way. Have you had any treatment yet? I do not need treatment yet but, I tell you, sometimes I wish I had something to help lower the pain and stiffness in my joints. I know what is causing it, and I am addressing them, but the leukemia makes it more difficult to get the pain under control. I have osteoarthritis, like so many of us do. It seems to be part of the aging process, however the leukemia seems to make it worse. I know it could be so much worse, so I am not complaining exactly, just frustrated with the constant joint pain. Mostly I can handle it, but today is a hard day. Those are my thoughts about joint pain, it comes with age and it is worse with having leukemia. Ask your physical therapist and maybe others on this site have ideas too. I will keep you in prayer and hope you get some other ideas on how to manage your joint pain!

Agree with all above. Heat & ice sometimes help control localized pain. Advil works for me & percocet (which is not the demon drug some make it). Hot baths & I've found that good quality CBD cream is a miracle - again form localized pain. I keep pounding my drum about how USA docs don't acknowledge pain in cancer patients - I think it is because they don't have a treatment plan. And that sucks.

Hi ,I have just passed my 2 years since being diagnosed with AML.My hematologist says pain in the long bones can be really bad All 3 of my doctors (hematologist ,family doc ,& chemo doc) have told me its OK to use Tylenol up to 3000 mgm /day & I do use it every day in the am, after lunch & at bedtime .I have been told that the stress of the disease its self can cause muscle & joint & bone pain.Hot showers on my shoulders & neck help, also being around close friends & family help relieve stress & pain.I think we each have to find what works for us & suggestions from this web site & sharing what we each do is amazing.Thank you all!

I went to physical therapy for 8 weeks. I try to follow the exercises they gave me and they help some.. I still have pain in my hip joints that persists. I am thinking about trying acupuncture.
