Who Has Had Low Rbc And Low Hemoglobin, But Normal Wbc. With These Numbers Did Your Hematologist Suggest Starting Treatment Or Wait?
On my last blood test which was just in last 10 days the rbc were between 3.5 and 4 which I believe is slightly below the acceptable range. Of course the white cells were in the normal range. In regards to the iron infusions they could be given in one dose or five separate doses given every couple days. I have found they help with the numbers and eliminate some of the fatigue the anemia causes. in addition to my CLL I have Crohn’s disease and have malabsorption issues because of a bowel resection and partial coloctomy I had done several years ago. My hemoglobin is also below normal and iron is around 60 currently when it goes below 50 the doctor usually orders the infusions. I also have a low transferin saturation but my TIBC is still in an acceptable range.
Thank you John. I appreciate your response.Do you have similar rbc numbers? How does the iron infusions work?
You may be anemic ask about having iron levels transferin saturation checked. I have a similar problem and have received iron infusions or took oral iron supplements which helped
