IDH2 R140 Relapse AML
I have AML with npm1, flt3 and IDH2 r140 gene mutations. I have been in remission since Sept of 2021.
A bone marrow biopsy just showed 2.2% amount of IDH2 r140 has returned. What does this mean in terms of a relapse? I'm waiting on npm1 results and flt3 is negative
Thanks!
Kathy
I'm waiting to get in front of a doctor to get a better idea of what to expect. I'm not in a position to have a transplant so I've opted to do nothing. My children and I are at peace with this decision and just want to enjoy our trip to Europe next month and whatever else we can manage!
It's a long wait from the biopsy test to results and meeting with the Dr, I had a high anxiety build up until he came in and went over it, no avoiding it.
From my bone biopsies a 2.2% amount of cells presenting affecting cells is very low. This is a good test. I would be happy with this outcome.
I am so happy to read you are at peace and off to Europe! I should study up on the details of my mutations.
I am sorry. Have you and your oncologist doctor come up with a plan? I think I saw new treatments for AML. I will be thinking and praying for you.
