Is CMML The Same As CML ?
Hello Albert, apparently they are different.
CML (chronic myeloid leukaemia ) affects the myeloid cells in the blood and bone marrow, while CMML affects a specific myeloid cell called a monocyte, which helps to fight infections.
CMML a type of chronic blood cancer in which a person's bone marrow does not make blood effectively.
CML is one of the four types of leukemia.
No, they are different with CML far more treatable than CMML. CMML has a much higher morbidity rate than CML. Only cure for CMML is a stem cell transplant.
The difference between CML and CMML has to do with tge genetic abnormalities. CML usually has th presence of the Philidelphia Chromosome (PH+) this happens when chromosone 9 and 22 attach to each other during cell division. The abnormal cell is the Philidelphia Chromosome.
No, it’s different. CMML is chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. My husband has this. Apparently it’s rare, like 4 in a million people get it every year. CML is chronic myeloid leukemia.
