best to ask your dentist. whoops. i forgot.
i was a dentist for 42 years. retired 15 years ago . chemo brain in action again

i do have some advice. after you discuss it with your MD:
Google all the side effects of the specific medications you are taking. It will definitely list them.

then google other diseases like Covid to rule out other causes.

good luck. keep us posted.

Yes Carol, I also get a dry mouth, and if it hurts my mouth when I eat, then you would think that the cancer has gone to that part of the mouth and killed the taste buds, when it also happens my tongue hurts.
Peter Mac is here in Australia to treat all cancer sufferers, does a great job, so is there something like this overseas.

I also do have a dry mouth and so can understand and drink lots of water. There is spray one can buy and forgot the name, but did not find it helped my mouth at all. Some say sucking hard candies help if you do not have ore diabetes of diabetes. Yes, have heard some that do have trouble tasting after the leukemia. Various reasons can be for this, but it can happen. Also, some get a Metal taste in their mouth, again various reasons for it. Let your physician know when you see them. They need to know any changes as such as well. Good to always keep them posted. I sometimes write anything down like that, and when I go to the physician I will havve my question ready.

Hey Geoff, I did have issues with my taste from the chemo. It made everything taste like sh!t!!! It happened every time I was given chemo. I used Biotene for any mouth sores and to help with mouth dryness also. I hope yours comes back soon if it's lost...

Hi Geoff, No issues with taste or smell. Maybe because I am on a wait and see so I have not started any treatments.
