So blood work today cancer markers (in blood not bet-abl) 0 which he was thrilled with.

Wbc 3.89 (L), hemoglobin low and neu .92 when range is 1.5-6 or something but platelets (originally 881) down to 221 three weeks ago and now back to 377.

He’s considering lowering dosage of meds but what is that gonna do to platelets. Wants another blood draw Monday 11/27 and will decide then about lowering sprycel 100mg at that point.

I don’t know how to feel about this. My doctor seemed happy with… read more

Those numbers look good to me too. Don’t be afraid. The Sprycel is doing a good job. If he has to lower it to 50mg, just go with it and see what happens on the next tests. Please relax and get ready for your trip. You need to have some fun. That is some of the best medication you can take. Also, my platelets are at 239 which is in the normal range. The normal range is 152-386 and if I am ever a little outside those ranges, my Dr says not to worry about it because it will change as your body adapts to the Sprycel. Once again, don’t worry, enjoy your trip and have a Happy Thanksgiving 🧙🏻‍♀️🍗🦃

Try not to worry too much about the counts. Mine go up and down all the time. My platelets are at 41 and wbc finally I think is at 2. I do blood work twice a week. I am 67 days post transplant.

Those numbers don't look like anything scary to me. The last CBC I had showed my platelets at 104. That was the day I had my knee replacement surgery. When it comes to blood work, I let my doc worry about those. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

My platelet counts vary a lot from month but I have not needed a transfusion Balancing chemo and our side effects is a complex matter. Your current platelet count looks pretty good to me. It sounds like you have a caring doctor. Happy Thanksgiving.

It's normal to go through anxiety. I found that trying to understand all the blood work only made me more frustrated and anxious. Talking with your health care team may help. When I was hospitalized the nurses wrote the daily counts on a wall board. That helped. We are at the mercy of the professionals. They know what they are doing. Take care and know that you are not alone.😊Keep smiling.
