How Many Have Been On Watch And Wait And For How Long Before You Started Treatment?

I have been on watch and wait since 2008. Since I have had melanoma three times with the last one being stage 3 and have prostate cancer, the doctors don't want to poke the bear as treating one or the other may pull my immune system further down allowing one of the other cancers to flare up.

Hi Gary, I have only been on watch and wait for 12 years so you have me beat. I have had squamous cell skin cancers but no big deal. Hang in there and keep beating my progress. Happy New Year!

Let's keep things quiet in our bodies. I have had the three melanomas all on my left arm and numerous squamous and basil cell skin cancers on legs and arms, sometimes I feel like a Dalmation dog with all of the scars.😂

Hey thank you for that information. Like you, I was officially diagnosed with CLL in 2008 by my melanoma doctor when he found it doing the bloodwork for my first melanoma skin cancer. He got with a previous primary doctor and researched my older bloodwork and feels it started around 2001 due to elevated WBC. No longer have that primary for obvious reasons. My melanoma doctor felt he couldn't give the care that I needed at that point and sent me to his friend at Siteman Cancer Center in Saint Louis, I now have all three of my cancer doctors there. It's great because they all communicate with each other for my treatments. In fact, my leukemia doctor is more concerned about my melanoma stage 3 at this point than the CLL. Thanks again.
