Hi has anyone had issues with getting a tooth pulled. It's day 3 and I'm in alot of pain and my side of me face is swelling even making my eye water. I'm getting chemo still which I'm sure doesn't help. But does anyone have any advise or am I just a slow healer.

Tonya3.. dry socket happens often. They pack the socket with a medicine that promotes healing… make sure to keep all post op appointments and do tell your oncologist .. you may need to pre med before any future dental care.

Hey Tonya. I agree totally with Christine...give your oral surgeon a call and let them know. When I had 2 teeth pulled last year, they prescribed antibiotics, had me rinse very gently numerous times a day with salt water and also gave me some sort of gel and small syringe for the sockets. I know for sure that on day 3, I had very very little pain. Let us know what your oral surgeon says ok.

Call your dentist or oral surgeon as soon as you can…even after hours & try salt water rinse with warm water and a warm compress on the face. Could be a root tip or some food debris in the socket. There is no pain like tooth pain…you could need an antibiotic. I worked in the dental field. Good luck.
