I had to get my second opinion with an in network Dr. recently, I wanted to go to Northwestern or Mayo for it. Going to this 2nd Dr. for my next lab appt. He explained more and took the time with me.
Northwestern or Mayo are still what id like to pursue.

I just had a 2nd opinion at Northwestern Cancer in Illinois last week. Had a good experience and learned a lot more than my current oncologist had talked about.
The watch and wait is frustrating due to all of the side effects of the cll. The fatigue, muscle and joint pain can really wear on you. I make the best of it and tend to push myself probably more than I should. Rest when you have to and keep a positive attitude.

Seeking a second opinion for CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia) can be very beneficial, especially if you're uncertain about your current treatment plan or diagnosis. Here’s why:

1. **Confirmation of Diagnosis**: A second opinion can confirm the initial diagnosis and ensure that you are receiving appropriate treatment based on your specific condition.
2. **Exploration of Options**: Different oncologists might have varying levels of experience with CLL and could suggest alternative management strategies or newer treatment options.
3. **Peace of Mind**: Knowing you have explored all options can provide reassurance and confidence in your treatment plan.

Regarding "watchful waiting" or "watch and wait" approach for CLL:
- **Early Stage Management**: CLL often progresses slowly. Immediate aggressive treatment might not improve outcomes but could cause unnecessary side effects.
- **Monitoring**: During this period, regular check-ups and tests monitor the disease's progression. Treatment begins if significant changes or symptoms develop.
- **Quality of Life**: By delaying treatment, patients can maintain a better quality of life without the side effects of chemotherapy or other treatments until they are necessary.

It's always important to stay informed and actively involved in your healthcare decisions.

I was diagnosed with T-LGLL and PH+ with T315I mutation. My oncologist is waiting for the August 13, 2024 test results on the clonality to then recommend a coarse of action.

I was thinking, depending on the August 13, 2024 recommendation I would seek a second opinion or maybe get a second opinion regardless of the recommended coarse of action.
