I do. I don’t have Leukemia but I do have two precursors; MDS and MPN. I have what’s known as an MDS/MPN Overlap. MDS used to be known as Pre-Leukemia.
Those of us with the overlap then to lean one way or the other regarding platelets. With MDS, platelets are typically low and with MPN, they’re high. We tend to lean one way or the other. Mine are high.

My platelets are low but doctor says nothing will be done until they drop more, low end of the guideline now.

Hi. I’m sorry to hear that. I have CML but I’m actually referring to where the platelets are fine in quantity but don’t function properly. I’m having bleeding issues and they are now on a mission to figure out what is going on before I need a blood transfusion. I really don’t want one. I’m just putting it out there for anyone with any experience. Do your levels return or do you receive a separate treatment for that?

My platelet counts go down below normal after every treatment.
