Hi! Has Anyone Every Gotten IVIgG's?
Ronda I have to laugh... my IgG are 248! Other than my constant sinus infection I was wondering if there are other benefits to doing the IVIG.
Also, after my last anxiety attack I had - I stopped doing research etc. And decided to rely on God and all of you running this race with me.
January-April seems to be the worst months for all the yuck. He was in and out of the hospital during those months then , like a faucet got turned off, the middle of April everything seemed to just “dry up” and, knock on wood, he hasn’t been admitted since. Every admittance was only a couple days long, which we were grateful for but still a royal pain. Unequivocally needed but still a frustration. One infusion early June as an outpatient and the remnants of a cold left within a couple days. He hasn’t mentioned the IVIG clearing any other symptom going away after an infusion. First infusion he got the bed shakes, which kinda freaked us both out. Our nurse was on it right away and within 5 mins -prolly less - she had them under control and he was able to continue on with the infusion to completion without complication.
Denise, with all your research, you’re more educated than I with the potential risks and side effects vs benefit of IVIG. I did no research, whatsoever. Trusted our Team. My Hunter has had the mindset, from early on in this journey we never asked to be on, “it is what it is and it’s gonna be what it’s gonna be. God gave our drs way more education and intelligence than I, so common sense should guide us to follow the science, LEAN INTO OUR FAITH, and trust those in the know. It’s going to work out how God intended this to work out”. The last ivig Hunter received, earlier this spring, his numbers were 247. The benefit of him getting over the infection quite quickly and back to “normal life” as possible, seemed the logical avenue for us.
Yes, people with leukemia, particularly those with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), have received intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) treatments. IVIG is used to protect individuals with weakened immune systems from infections. It is administered via intravenous infusion in a medical setting and is typically given once a Show Full Answer
