Hi labfam11,
As Tom4 said, treatment depends on several factors, as you already know. Just a high WBC does not mean treatment is imminent. How you feel, and what your other CBC blood tests show, along with any other issues you may have, and other considerations, like genetic markers, will determine if you begin treatment. I am going on my second year with CLL and so far no treatment is needed. I have the slow growing kind of CLL, so like you, I have no idea if I will need treatment in the future or not. I just turned 66yrs and am living one day at a time. So far so good! A few hiccups with my health, but mostly I am okay.
Blessings to you and good health!

Hi Labfan11 ! I'm just starting my 13th month with CLL...WBC has been relatively stable, around 65,000 this whole journey. Watching and waiting as I head toward my 72nd year. Not sure what's in store for me, but as for right now, I can deal with my exhaustion and achy body. After all, I am getting old! Good luck with your journey!
