A compromised Immune System will cause sores & blisters inside mouth.. I also get on lip… Antiviral’s such as Valcyclovir taken daily can help.. Make sure you drink plenty of water w/this type of medication… Dehydrating & hard on kidneys… Inside mouth sores, swelling & bleeding gums, Warm saline water & baking soda… Use Purified Water… PS During very painful times, soft foods & supplement shakes are added nutrition that your body needs…

Hi Kathryn. Hope you are feeling a little more comfortable. Yes, will have to continue taking the Aza injections and veneteflax for life. So every 6 weeks. But at least I am here still enjoying life, fighting, and keeping a positive outlook, whilst living day to day in the moment. blessings and best wishes. David.

About a year after transplant, I had an extremely sore and painful tongue. It turned out to be acute GVHD. I was put on tapering doses of prednisone and thankfully, it subsided.

Hi Kathryn, I have AML and Peter Mac supply a mouth wash which should be free from a hospital, which I have used and it works well and doesn't taste awful at all.
