How Many TKIs Are Their Available To Fight CML
Is it possible to be put back on a certain TKI after you have been taking off of it
because of side effects? I am talking about some years later.
You forgot Scemblix in your reply that is also approved
There are five tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat chronic myeloid leukemia (CML):
- Bosulif (bosutinib)
- Iclusig (ponatinib)
- Gleevec (imatinib)
- Sprycel (dasatinib)
- Tasigna (nilotinib)
These medications are very effective at treating CML and preventing it Show Full Answer
There are a lot of tyrosine kinase inhibitors
I started on Imatinib, 5 months later had severe bone pain in my shoulders, started on Dasatinib went 11 months and developed severe plueral effusion, switched to Bosutinib, and the PE increased and then switched back o Imatinib. with no decrease in the PE I'm now on Tasigna. I'm still holding CMR now for 2 years now. Also still 2 years now with a Pleurx catheter. (PE from Sprycel.)
Thanks so much for your reply !!!!!
