Anyone Else Having Teeth Problems? I Have Had 4 Teeth Pulled Because Of Bone Loss. I Am Told It’s Due To The Meds And The CML

Interesting thing happened the other day. A crown fell out. Not just the crown but also the 2 metal posts. Doing absolutely nothing, it just dropped out. Thankfully I was able to recover both posts and the crown and not swallow them. The remaining tooth under the crown is crumbling. I’ve had tooth pain and concerns of teeth needing removal, because of CML or treatment or both. Started using sensodyne toothpaste with much success. I’d say things are changing in my teeth and gums to allow this to have just drop out.

Since CML is a blood cancer and comes out of bone marrow, and teeth are bones, I just assume that and everything in our bodies is fair game for the CML. Blood goes everywhere, so what it affects on who could be different. Used to have perfect teeth naturally and a couple of years before diagnosis, teeth started crumbling for no reason. Had some strange blood results over that time that which were considered one off’s but in my mind CML was brewing for a couple of years before it appeared with a be vengeance. And bloodwork sometimes revealed that. But redoing bloodwork would then appear normal. I’ve read about gum disease and CML, whereas the gums overtake the teeth. So much could go wrong, we just have to see what happens and roll with it.

Since starting Scemblix, which is working on my CML very well, I get these weird skin colored hard patches of skin. Like a small mole sized bump that is skin colored. Small and hard. Some will come off without leaving an open wound, and some stay. Is it CML or is it the treatment? It’ll always be the chicken or the egg dilemma. Maybe something else, but as the blood carries the cells, anything is possible.

At this point I think that each day is a gift and God has a plan, so I let the plan play out. Figure out what to do with each thing that comes up and get it checked out.

Stay strong, stay well, and may God keep watch over you!

No teeth pulled but I do believe that the treatments that I have had and probably will have again have caused damage to my teeth. Don’t miss your cleanings and check ups. Stay away from mouthwash with any alcohol in it. I use Healthy Gums from the Natural Dentist. You can get it at Walmart. Good luck!
