Diagnosed 4/17, Cll. Oncologist Seems To Think That I'm Getting Closer To Starting Treatment. My New Primary Told Me To Decline Treatment.

Skiatook, OK

What will happen to me if I decline treatment? All my Dr's say the treatment is severe, for cll. Has anyone here declined treatment? I keep wondering how long I would live without treatment.

If you’re unsure about starting treatment, get a second opinion from another oncologist. They can give their opinion by looking at your cbc

I used to wonder why my 50 yr. old daughter was always thanking God for her breast C. I am not so thankful for my CLL , but will live with it !!

Hi Felicia. I have seen others on this forum who have chosen not to do treatment. Wish I could remember their names so I could direct you to them. If I remember correctly, one of them declined treatment 2 yrs ago and is still doing great. I truly feel there are no definitive answers as to longevity as each and every one of our systems are vastly different. Other medical conditions that one may have could also play a part. And as Phyllis mentioned..you can decline treatment, see what happens and if you decide in the future to have treatment, then revisit doing so. Hugs

Great article MrNatural. Thanks so much for sharing. Knowledge is power. Every one is different but I changed my diet, lifestyle, etc etc a few months after I was diagnosed with CLL 8 yrs. ago. I'm still on watch and wait and no treatments at all:):) Changing ones habits are not easy, however, once you do and you notice a huge difference it not only becomes habit but one feels soooo much better:):)
