Taking Me Off Sprycel While Out Of Country. Scared!!!!

Help! Ok today’s blood back.

Platelets dropped from 377 to 371 which is good.

WBC down from 3.83 to 2.79
Neu from .98 to .47

He’s taking me totally off sprycel while in Italy 12 days! Is this normal?

I’m scared to death to stop taking it thinking numbers are going to go sky high again!

I take imbruvica and the doctor took me off for 6 weeks and my numbers only went up slightly. So don’t worry about it on your trip. Just have a wonderful trip.

Hi Mary, that seems kind of odd. I wonder if it has to do with not allowing a chemo pill on the jet or bringing into a different country. I was really getting fed up with my insurance and stopped taking my Sprycel until they fixed the situation. I was off it for 8 days and my numbers remained fine. I wonder if you could take 12 pills in the bottle with the label, leave the rest at home. If anyone takes the pills away, you still have some at home. If they don’t, you have your Sprycel with you. You need the bottle in case anyone questions it. I personally don’t see what the problem is. You may want to check with the airline as well. Don’t fret the situation, go and have a good time. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Take care and enjoy Italy.

Think positive. This is only my opinion, but you might be surprised. Maybe you won't have to go back on it when you get back?? I stopped taking Imbruvica over two years ago because we thought it was affecting my heart function. My heart is running much better, but the great news is that I am not back on any chemo pills. Enjoy your vacation MKP.
