I Think I Posted My Question In The Wrong Place. Has Anyone That Had Been On Wait And Watch Started Taking The Chemo Pill Acalabrutinub?
Calquence has brought me back to normal blood work so far one year later still in remission no side effects other than sore joints and muscles. A miracle in my book
I've been taking Calquence for almost 3 1/2 years. At first it was not looking to be the cure-all I'd been hoping. I've had my ups/downs, but most of my #'s have gone from really bad to a "normal" range! :). Fatigue, memory issues and lack of motion have been problems but very thankful to be alive!
Nope, not so far...I am on watch and wait but no chemo! I have to say...THANK GOD no chemo.π That stuff can cause other issues after you complete the treatment. It helps one thing but canπ cause another. I think that is the challenge with leukemia, to stop the progression or manage symptoms you need treatment. Treatment is a gift, so being grateful you can afford treatment and live a country that offers so many treatment options is the gift in all of this. I hope they find the right treatment for you!
It's called Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. I believe that is because it never goes away. A very slow-moving cancer that increases white blood cells fighting the cancer thus reducing the red blood cells. Chemo pills keep blood more normal not a cure. Keep in mind slow moving and there are constantly new treatments evolving. Keep exercising and don't give up physically or mentally..
Hello Gail ,like Tom cat my numbers have been great for the last year. i had the chemo ,8 rounds and calquence 100 twice a day i don't get that cancer tired that much any more you know the difference. If anything hurts im always thinking it's the cancer or is it were just getting old. Im 64 and a competitive athlete im always injured. Good luck and god bless you.
