Hi, I am so not a dietician, please know that upfront. Also I never once actually vomited. I was encouraged by an ALL, 10-year, post transplant, survivor this... "regardless of how you feel - eat! If you want to or not". I had to go with comfort foods (I am an adult) which was toast with avacodo, peanut butter sandwich, mac and cheese. Meats were hard for me, the only one I could seem to digest was ground meats or ground turkey - but I could never find anything exciting to do except meatloaf. LOL Foods are still hard for me (especially in the hospital because to this day the thought of their food makes me sick) I ate Oatmeal. with peanut butter and brown sugar. My hang up with Peanut butter was it was easy protein. And my favorite thing after cycle B, which seemed to counter whatever my body/stomach hated during cycle B was cold watermelon. Also - I never drank enough water!!! I was told that the only fruits/vegetables I could eat had to be peeled. So I always washed before I peeled. Fruits were easier to find than vegetables. My first salad the day my neutrophils were normal was like a party for me LOL. But than it just didn't taste right and my disappointment made me angry. THE SHORT ANSWER....... whatever he wants because everything was such a disappointment when it hit my tastebuds and stomach. I use to be an anti-diary person but swiss cheese became my thing. It was worse than being pregnant trying to find something that didn't tick me off. AGAIN.... and I am 60, as an 11 year old, I can only imagine nothing makes him happy. Best of luck, and I am always here for answers that are too long.
