I wish I could help you honey but I'm not familiar with IVIG. Has he had a second opinion? Usually, your insurance does approve second opinions and your doctor would be okay with it too. I will keep you both in my prayers and heart. Wishing the best to you both. If he is feeling awful get a second opinion because it will ease your mine.

Certainly! Here is some information about intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) for leukemia:

Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) Overview
- Purpose: IVIG is used to protect people with weakened immune systems from infections. It is particularly helpful for those with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
- Administration: IVIG is administered via intravenous infusion in a medical setting.
- Frequency: Typically given once a month while antibody levels are low. As antibody levels rise, the frequency may decrease.

Intended Outcomes
- Protection: The goal is to reduce the number of bacterial infections in people with CLL.

Potential Side Effects
- Immediate: Headache, fatigue, fever, chills, muscle or joint aches, nausea, vomiting, or allergic reactions.
- Later: Kidney problems, blood clots, and rashes.
- Rare Risks: Although antibodies are purified and sterilized, there is a very small chance they may contain an infectious agent.

Watchful Waiting
- Context: Your husband has been on a "watch and wait" approach for over two years, which is common for managing CLL/SLL without immediate treatment.
