- Women: 4.2 million to 5.4 million cells per microliter

- Anemia:
- Low RBC, hematocrit, or hemoglobin counts indicate anemia.
- Symptoms include fatigue, weakness, and pale skin.
- Causes can include low iron, B12, or folate, or heavy bleeding.

- High RBC Count:
- May indicate dehydration or polycythemia vera, a type of blood cancer.

Doctors use these values to monitor leukemia and may adjust treatment based on these results. If RBC or hemoglobin levels are abnormal, further tests like a reticulocyte count may be ordered to determine the cause.

I think the wait and see has to do with deciding on treatment versus hoping the illness does not get worst? My doctor told me I was alright even though my count numbers kept going higher. I decided my count numbers were high enough for me to begin treatment. I think the doctor may have been conflicted with the cost of months medication ($15500 per moth) versus my increasing white blood cell count (WBC.) I was worried about possible ill affects from WBC attaching healthy cells and my possible worsting health? I also learned that we are uncharge with our recovery and our medical people support us and provide our best care versus just observing our health and waiting for us to become sicker?
